EXCELLENT Based on 227 reviews Posted on Google jay altieriTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Buffalo lodge at Queen Elizabeth National Park is very good. Our cottage, called Hammerkop, was large, comfortable with good bed, large floor fan, surprisingly good wifi, room safe, full midern western bathroom including bidet and tub, excelent hot water. No refrigerator, no TV, no telephone, no AC, etc. Dont be a city slicker, this is safari bush. Full board is included because you are in the middle of national park with no food options nearby. Food is excellent, especially considering your location. All meals are a la carte pre-ordered with an option for Western and local dishes. They have a good looking swim pool, ample bars and lounge areas, wild animals roam the camp in morning and evening. QENP is a great national park for game driving. Dont miss a boat ride on the Kazinga channel.Posted on Google Edden BergmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing place! Staff was magnificent, friendly and helpful. Could see so many animals just by being there including elephants walking through the property. Highly recommend.Posted on Google Alexander NordforsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on Google Finch StTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on Google Sima AmsterTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What an incredible location. One of the elephants in the park comes by to visit (John) and it was so cool to see him crashing in. Great food options, especially the local dishes they offer. Staff was wonderful all around and brought a delicious birthday cake. Would highly recommend!Posted on Google Gabrielle BuiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Incredible stay at buffalo safari lodge. The entire team there were so friendly and accommodating. They made us feel so welcome. Not sure why we were surprised but the food was pretty good. They take your order in advance and do a 3 course meal. Phenomenal soups, each and every one. We also liked the fried pork chop the best and some desserts were pretty good. There is a pool overlooking a watering hole. The entire time we were there buffalo were just hanging out. While we were eating lunch one day, we had a great view of several elephants wandering in the distance. Another elephant came to visit at reception. And the best part, we were woken up by an elephant right outside our bedroom door. Being so close to the animals made this experience so magical. The only thing that was a negative was the lack of consistent hot water. It would turn on for a little at the start of the shower but never stayed consistently hot. Luckily it was pretty warm so not too big of an issue. All that being said, you can’t beat being right next to the park, the views and the wildlife right at your front door. We’d happily come back for another stay.Posted on Google David McIntyreTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We spent two wonderful nights at Buffalo Safari Lodge. Such a nice place. We had both sides of the "M" cabin right near the lodge. Rooms were gigantic and comfortable. We had a viewing balcony, too. Meals were absolutely great. Like many safari lodges you order your choices at the meal before, and we were served great good. Drank cold Nile, Tusker and Bell beer. The pool is a highlight. Super clean and clear. We watched elephants in the nearby clearing while relaxing in the pool! When we arrived an elephant walked through the dining area. Having dinner outside was super great. I would happily spend a week here. I will mention that we did lose power for a few hours one night, but that's the way it goes in the jungle! We have 0 complaints and loved it.Posted on Google Mary Beth DaiseyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the moment I arrived, we were welcomed by an incredibly warm, professional, and attentive team whose customer care was simply outstanding. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay especially Susan. The dining experience was exceptional and outstanding. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared, with a great variety of dishes that catered to different tastes. Enjoying amazing meals while surrounded by breathtaking views of the park made every dining experience special. The lodge itself is, in my opinion, one of the best places to stay within Queen Elizabeth National Park. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and perfectly blend luxury with the beauty of nature. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the views are spectacular. What made my visit truly extraordinary was an experience I will never forget. Late one night, while relaxing by the fireplace, a leopard quietly passed by nearby. Seeing such a magnificent wild animal in its natural habitat, under the night sky, was both thrilling and magical. It was one of the most incredible wildlife encounters I have ever had. If you're looking for outstanding hospitality, excellent food, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable wildlife experiences, Buffalo Safari Lodge is the perfect destination. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return! Special appreciation to our tower operator Ratel safaris for recommending this place. Alles was top, super vriendelijk! Posted on Tripadvisor Gwen BVerified Amazing stay, amazing people Had great help from Gobard en Gloria, they were very sweet and helped with everything. The location is amazing, elephants drink almost daily from the pool, and the pool offers a view over a popular spot in the safari park. You will see lots of animals just laying down at the pool!!Posted on Tripadvisor GiuliaVerified Esperienza stupenda! Ottima pulizia!Posted on Tripadvisor KishanVerified One of the best lodges we have ever stayed at - we love John!!! Buffalo Safari Lodge was simply phenomenal. The food was outstanding—the best we enjoyed during our entire two-week trip through Uganda. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely a pleasure to be around. The service was exceptional from start to finish, with thoughtful touches that really set the lodge apart. One example that stood out was the staff offering insect repellent at dinner—something we’ve never experienced anywhere else in the tropics. It’s those little details that make such a big difference. Now, let’s talk about the wildlife… John the elephant is undoubtedly the star of the show! This magnificent wild elephant wanders freely through the property whenever he feels like it, casually strutting around as if he owns the place—because, in reality, he probably does! He couldn’t care less about the guests; he’s only interested in his favourite trees and finding something tasty to eat. We absolutely loved him. The wild nature of this lodge is what makes it so special. You genuinely feel immersed in nature, and if you’re a keen birder, this is an absolute paradise. He even brings friends.. yes bigger elephants! The lodge also overlooks a small watering hole where you can watch an incredible variety of wildlife, including plenty of large mammals, without even leaving the property. A special mention also has to go to the security team. They went above and beyond to ensure we were safe whenever we walked around after dark or in the early morning. This place is truly wild, and their professionalism gave us complete peace of mind while still allowing us to enjoy every moment of the experience. If you’re looking for an authentic safari lodge where incredible wildlife, outstanding hospitality, and unforgettable experiences come together, Buffalo Safari Lodge is hard to beat.
